The International Observatory on the Societal Impacts of AI and Digital Technology (OBVIA) and the Institute for Data Valorization (IVADO) have partnered to offer $60,000 in funding for completion of a postdoctoral fellowship involving study of challenges of power, inequality and discrimination in AI.
The funding includes a portion of the postdoctoral fellow’s salary, in the amount of $50,000 per year, plus a travel and hospitality allowance of $10,000 per year.
Funding is granted for 12 months and is renewable once, subject to provision of progress reports deemed satisfactory by the OBVIA review committee and the research directorate.
Given the ongoing COVID-19 situation, OBVIA and IVADO have decided to extend the application period for postdoctoral fellowship funding under the emerging researcher scholarship program. You now have until 9 a.m. EDT on Monday, June 29, to submit an application.
If you would like to avail yourself of the new deadline to make changes to your application, you can send your amended application package, complete in a single e-mail attachment, to bourses@observatoire-ia.ulaval.ca before the deadline.
Following the extended application period, OBVIA will announce the names of the selected applicants and the titles of their research projects.
Note to applicants: please see this page of the OBVIA website (in French) for the timetable and upcoming key dates.
